Kool Kidz, a party center located in Gerritsen Beach, is under new ownership and now offering customized party packages for children and adults for a variety of occasions, including birthday parties and bar/bat mitzvahs.
Alexandra Gordin and her family took over Kool Kidz in March. It reopened later in the month after full renovations, including the addition of a rock-climbing wall, black light glow-in-the-dark space, art station wall, and an electronic game setup with Xbox and PlayStation.
Kool Kidz offers three party packages: Kool Party, Ultimate Party, and Kool Girlz. In addition to the packages, customers can also choose from a list of add-ons to customize their parties, such as character appearances, balloon twisting, a Nerf gun relay challenge, T-shirt decorating, face painting, and more. The venue also offers special themed parties upon request that include paper goods, decorations, and balloons.

“With every purchase, we work with the customer to give them what they want,” says Alexandra Gordin, owner of the family-run business. “We give a lot of choices because each party is different.”
According to Gordin, the Bubble Show is a popular party add-on. It includes a magic show that features tricks with bubbles. At the close of the show, children have the opportunity to go inside kid-size bubbles.
“It’s really fun, both kids and adults love it,” Gordin says.
Local restaurants provide catering for Kool Kidz parties. Customers can choose from a variety of cuisines such as Italian, Russian, and sushi that are set up buffet-style for the parties. A kosher menu is also available.
Kool Kidz hosts one party at a time in its 2,000-square-foot venue, which fits up to 50 guests per party. Parties run for two hours, but customers can enjoy a longer event for an additional charge. The center caters to mostly children’s affairs, but adult parties can also be arranged.
