Knox School Summer Adventures Introduces New Classes for 4-Year-Olds and a Disc Golf Course

This summer, Knox School Summer Adventures, a day camp in St. James serving children ages 4-16, is welcoming a new age division to join their camp community. Children who are 4 years old by June 1 and are completely potty-trained are invited to join the Guppy program. The Guppy program is run alongside to the Tadpole program in that it is led by a New York State-certified teacher and places an emphasis on early learning readiness. Campers will be in their own learning space, which will help prepare them for a classroom setting and eventually pre-K and kindergarten.

The Guppy program features activities such as arts and crafts, dance, swimming lessons and other aquatic excursions, and circle time. All activities are age appropriate and are aimed at fostering cognitive, socialization, language, and physical skills, according to Nic DeZenzo, director of summer programs at Knox School Summer Adventures. Schedules for Guppies are customizable from 1-5 days a week, 9am-3:30pm.

Additionally, the Knox School is opening a new disc golf course in early June. Campers will enjoy tournaments divided by age group and friendly competitions throughout the summer. The course, which will be spread throughout the 30+ acre campus, will be suited to all ages.

Camp runs from June 26- Aug. 23 with flexible enrollment dates. For more information visit the Knox School website, email camp_info@knoxschool.org, or call 631-686-1640.
