The Bensonhurst location of the JEI Learning Center, which opened in April, now offers a variety of extracurricular enrichment programs for students in pre-K through ninth grades.
The JEI Math and English program, for students ages 4-14, allows for a highly individualized way of learning that teaches children how to learn on their own and at their own pace and sets good habits for future academic endeavors. JEI tailors the program to fit individual needs through a comprehensive, computer-generated diagnostic system that analyzes test results and reveals a student’s strengths and weaknesses. Each student is then prescribed a specific study program. JEI Math is aligned with the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics and JEI English is aligned with the National Council of Teachers of English—both programs follow the respective published national standards.
JEI also offers a “Lil’ Genius” course powered by FastTrackKids for children ages 3-5. The program, with a special theme each month, focuses on elements of literacy, math, communication, language, and numbers. The interactive curriculum inspires creativity as well as movement, and helps build social skills.
In addition, JEI offers afterschool Homework Help and private tutoring for kids who struggle with homework.
In September, JEI will also offer an OLSAT/NNAT prep course for the Gifted & Talented program. Classes have a maximum of four students to ensure individualized attention.
