JEI Learning Center offers help for students struggling with math, reading, or writing.
JEI Learning Center Lybrook-Hewlett, a supplemental education services provider, opened in July offering small-group tutoring sessions for students in pre-K through ninth grade who are struggling in math, reading, and writing. The math sessions help students build problem-solving skills and focus on understanding concepts rather than memorizing. The literature-based reading and writing enrichment program is designed to help develop reading comprehension and improve the overall quality and creativity of writing. The center also offers a Brain Safari, a program for first- through fifth-graders, in which children use workbooks to improve their cognitive and logic skills.
JEI uses a diagnostic system to gauge students’ strengths and weaknesses and determine what each student needs to work on the most. Each student is then prescribed an individual learning program based on his or her weaknesses. Students are assigned to a group or no more than four to work with a tutor who will help each child with what he or she is struggling with. “Our mission is to provide high-quality learning system so that all of our students can succeed in school,” says owner Yana Shvartsberg.
The JEI learning center is open year round, Tuesday-Thursday from 2:30-7:30pm and Saturdays from 10am-2pm.
