Chances are, if you have the interest to read a parenting
newsletter like this one, you probably also have the interest and ability
(whatever your income level) to make sure your child enjoys occasional special
adventures like going to the Bronx Zoo. But what may be a common treat for your
children and mine isn’t common for all children, of course—and I want to share
a special story about, believe it
or not, a local gangbanger who plaintively laments how he’s never been to the
Bronx Zoo. —
