Any new mom can tell you that the struggle of finding clean, safe, and private spots to breastfeed or pump is very real–however, there’s now a tool available right on your phone to make the process a bit easier: Moms Pump Here. MPH is an app and online community that uses GPS to help nursing moms locate and rate spots to feed and pump.

What are mission and core offerings of Moms Pump Here?
Moms Pump Here is the first online GPS tool and app to help nursing moms easily find, rate, and share places to breastfeed and breast pump privately throughout the United States.
What inspired you to start Moms Pump Here?
No mother should have to breastfeed or breast pump in a dingy public bathroom or parked car. If adults do not eat or prepare meals in a bathroom, why should our delicate babies be forced to also? Despite the fact that we still have hurdles to clear in public breastfeeding we also know that every nursing mom on the go should be able to find private areas to breastfeed and breast pump.
I had my own challenges with all of the above with three children of my own that I both breastfed and breast pumped for. I had a unique situation with each child. My oldest had kidney surgery at 8 months and his immune system was shot from medications so breastfeeding was the best option to boost his immune system. I only breastfed for my second child for two weeks because of stress levels but I breast pumped even longer. And with my third child, I breastfed and breast pumped for three years. I couldn’t let go knowing he would be my last child. So, having gone through each unique experience, I knew that life as a nursing mom was not easy.
I’ve known my business partner Kim Harrison (who also has three children) since college and when she messaged me about the recent issues she was having finding a clean space to breastfeed and breast pump, we did not have a second thought about creating Moms Pump Here. My husband, who also supports breastfeeding and breast pumping, created the website and mobile website. He integrated GPS and we started vetting nursing room locations. So really, Moms Pump Here was, and is, a family business. We believe that we can truly make a difference for women all over the country, who are just like Kim and me.
What kind of community can moms find online for MPH?
Over 4 million babies are born a year in the US and 75 percent of those moms breastfeed and breast pump for up to two years. Childbirth, breast pumping, and breastfeeding is never-ending, so we never stop helping moms. Moms Pump Here has a network of nursing rooms and moms (who have breastfed and breast pumped away from home and rated their nursing room locations) so users can know about safe, comfortable places to pump milk for their little ones when they can’t be with them.
In addition to providing nursing room locations, Moms Pump Here is committed to educating moms about the importance of breast milk and knowing their rights as nursing mothers by providing information, research, and blogs about personal experiences from myself and Kim on our website and social media channels.
What set’s MPH apart from other apps on the market?
Created by moms for moms, Moms Pump Here is the first online GPS tool for moms to find, rate, and share nursing room locations to breastfeed and breast pump in. We provide an online database of close to 1,000 nursing room locations (which is growing daily) throughout the United States and its territories. This database can be accessed through MomsPumpHere.com, on the Moms Pump Here Mobile website, by downloading the free Moms Pump Here Nursing Room Locator App on Google Play, Amazon, and soon on iTunes, and on Moms Pump Here’s social media channels.
We are the only service of our kind, created by two moms (myself and Kim), to provide multiple access points for information and a GPS tool for moms on the go to find and share nursing room locations in the United States.
