This summer, let your kids soak up the sun and learn a new skill by taking up tennis! To get you started, here’s a guide to some of our favorite tennis classes and camps:

City Parks Foundation
CityParks Tennis offers FREE tennis clinics for children ages five to 16 at every skill level in each of the five boroughs. Instructors focus on fitness and self esteem-building in a fun, encouraging setting. New York Junior Tennis League
The New York Junior Tennis League provides coaching, court time and equipment rental for NYC youth at sites in all five boroughs. 212-685-4600.

Sutton East Tennis

The junior indoor tennis program for children ages three to 18 is tailored to meet individual needs by customizing rackets, nets and courts for each player, which helps each student develop proper form and succeed on the playing field. 488 East 60th Street, 212-751-3452.

BumbleBee Tennis

Budding racketeers two years old and up are divvied up into groups based on age and skill level and can practice their newfound skills in an indoor or outdoor setting.

Elftennis

This portable tennis school has locations all throughout the city and surrounding area and emphasizes the four F’s in their training program: fun, fitness, friendships and fundamentals. Sportime
Offers tennis programming for juniors supervised by master tennis professionals in an encouraging and enriching environment. 1-888-NYTENNIS.

NFCH Sports
Run by tennis veteran and local dad Neil Friedman, this program for children three-and-a-half to nine years old is taught in gyms in churches and schools throughout the city. 212-772-1058.

The Community Center at Stuyvesant High School
Starting July 25, the center is offering free beginner tennis lessons for ages six through adult. Lessons will emphasize the fundamentals. 212-267-9700 or 646-210-4292.

Central Park Tennis Center

Certified instructors deliver private and group instruction to future tennis champs ages four to 15 atop Central Park’s 26 recently refurbished clay courts and four hard courts. 212-316-0800.

Champion Tennis Club
