Teens can head to the Whitney Museum this Friday afternoon for Summer Delirium: Teen Night! Participants can explore the Museum’s latest exhibit “Hélio Oiticica: To Organize Delirium,” make crafts, munch on snacks, and enjoy a samba performance by Harlem Samba.

The New York teens of Young Dancemakers Company will be bringing their talents and originally choreographed pieces to Socrates Sculpture Park. Moth Night for National Moth Week

This Saturday evening, learn all about moths during Moth Night in Pleasant Village Community Garden! Discover what moths eat, where they live, and more as David Yakim of the Metropolitan Monarch Alliance shares his knowledge about these winged creatures. Plus special lamps will be set up to attract moths and other insects, so don’t forget to bring your camera.

Double Dutch has returned to the Lincoln Center, which will be celebrating this schoolyard game turned competitive art-form during a two-day festival. Watch amazing double dutch performances and movie screenings and learn about women of color’s contribution to double dutch in NYC. Event goers can even get in on the action themselves during an open jump!

7th Annual NYC Children’s Poetry Festival

The 7th Annual NYC Children’s Poetry Festival is coming to Governors Island this weekend for two straight days of nonstop poetry! As part of the larger NYC Poetry Festival, this free fest sponsored by Writopia provides an amazing opportunity to experience and celebrate New York City’s vibrant poetry community. Children are invited to share their own poetry on a kids-only stage, enjoy readings, and contribute to the Poetree Forest.
