Five Favorites From Metro Minis

The store Metro Minis is one great, if somewhat under-the-radar, resources for expectant and new parents in the city, especially for all things babywearing, and for select products with a organic, or healthy bent. Their dedicated owner, Bianca Fehn, also has an good eye for style.— If you to get to know them, consider a visit to the store at Park Avenue at 75th Street; and at the least visit their website. Also, keep in mind that they offer at-home consultations for interested babywearers.

We asked Bianca for five of her favorite products at the moment—and she was happy to share:

1) Sakura Bloom Ring Sling – In such luxurious silks and linens in beautiful colorways, you’ll find it hard to believe how comfortably you can tote around a newborn or toddler in a Sakura Bloom ring sling. It’s perfect for when you want to nurse on the go, take a little one to a restaurant, or chase around your older child on the playground.

2) CatBird Baby Mei Tai – Mei tais are just about the easiest carriers to use, and they’re two-shouldered, which means they’re great for long walks and heavy babies. The CatBird Baby model has a nice, snuggly body that will fit your baby from newborn to toddler.

3) PlanetWise wet/dry bag – Running around town with a little baby, you’ll always have soggy stuff to deal with – burp cloths, bibs, onesies, wash cloths, and so on. You can carry your clean things in the front compartment of this adorable bag, and once they get soiled, zip them into the waterproof part to keep them away from the rest of your cargo.

4) NoseFrida – Don’t waste your time messing around with that bulb aspirator! Pediatricians all over the city agree that this is the best way to clear up a congested little nose so your little one can breathe, nurse, and be happy.

5) ChewBeads – These gorgeous necklaces are made from nontoxic silicone, so your baby can gnaw away safely while you look fabulous. A must-have for the stylish mama.
