Its interesting, why is it that it seems EVERY restaurant in NYC runs special Mother’s Day menus and events but Father’s Day specials are a little more low key (read NON-EXISTENT).
We truly believe that father’s should also be feted with a special meal and true to our nature, MiniMunchers scoured the City looking for some fun places to celebrate this Sunday with the kids.

Beacon NYC – This midtown spot (that wows kids with a cotton candy machine they can “use” in the kitchen) is having a special Steak and Eggs Brunch for $28 including free Brooklyn Lager Beer for the dads as well as a $38 three-course Steak dinner with a free bottle of 2009 Vina Borgia Grenache from Spain. The restaurant will also give dad a gift tin of Chef Waldy Maloufs BBQ spice rub. Steak and free booze – what dad wouldn’t love it! Call for reservations 212-332-0501
Southern Hospitality – Dads will love digging into the Special Father’s Day menu ($34.95) featuring Memphis style ribs, hand-sliced brisket and fried chicken at this Upper East Side “hot” (owned by Justin Timberlake) spot. The menu comes with two sides and a FLIGHT or beers or bourbons. Oh yeah, and they have salads too…
Peanut Butter & Co – It’s not fine dining but who doesn’t love a GREAT peanut butter sandwich? And the gourmet versions at this West Village sandwich shop will have the whole family begging for more! What dads will love is that their sandwich is free (with the purchase of another sandwich).
Patsy’s Italian Restaurant – If your favorite pop loves to channel the crooners of yester-year and is a sucker for GREAT old-school Italian food, then Patsy’s is THE place for him. A haunt of celebs from Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennet to Michael Buble and even Beyonce, this mid-town west restaurant is serving up a special prixe-fixe menu for $65 that includes three delectable courses and a jar of their famous Patsy’s homemade tomato sauce.
