Ge out, enjoy the sunshine, and check out all the family-friendly events lined up for this week!  Travel to space and beyond during the Space & Science Festival at The Intrepid Museum. Watch respected dance companies perform at the New Victory Theater. City of Water Day will arrive on Saturday and lastly, finish off your weekend with a buzzin’ block party at The Rubin and a Kidz Bop concert at the brand-new Coney Island Amphitheater. Enjoy!

Space & Science Festival
The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum

This weekend, join the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum for its fifth annual Space & Science Festival! This four-day celebration of the galaxy will feature tours, pier displays, presentations, Trek Talks, and more. Families will especially love the free screening of “Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home” (rated PG) on Thursday evening and Family Astronomy Night on Friday evening, during which all ages can view the stars using the museum’s telescopes and listen to the space exploits of astronaut Lee M. Morin. Pier activities, movie screening, and Family Astronomy Night (preregistration required) are free; all other activities are free with museum admission.

Don’t miss the first program of the New Victory Theater’s “Victory Dance 2016” series. The New Vic has curated an amazing lineup of dance performances to introduce young audiences to New York City’s rich dance scene. While free performances will be offered at summer programs and schools, three ticketed evening performances on July 14, 21, and 28 at the New Victory Theater will be open to the public. Program A will feature performances from doug elkins choreography, etc., Big Dance Theater, and David Neumann/Advanced Beginner Group. Recommended for ages 8 and up. Tickets are $10.

Hop on a boat during the 9th annual City Of Water Day Festival! This family-friendly event takes place along the New York and New Jersey waterfront. As the region’s largest harbor festival, the celebrations span from Governors Island to Maxwell Place Park in Hoboken, NJ, and dozens of other locations in the New York Harbor. Enjoy free boat tours on small and large vessels, including tall ships and tugboats; kayak, paddle, and row; and be sure not to miss the Children’s Activities Fair and Waterfront Activity Fairs, which are lots of fun for the whole family. This event is free.

Join The Rubin Museum this Sunday for its epic Block Party! The museum will celebrate its latest exhibit “Nepalese: Seasons: Rain and Ritual” with an afternoon of free family-friendly activities, live performances, and food. Children can get creative with arts and crafts such as mask-making and flower garland-making, receive henna tattoos, participate in museum tours and family gallery searches, and relax during an outdoor family yoga session. There will also be performances from Sonam Rinzin, Brooklyn Raga Massive, and others. All day, museum admission will be free. This event is free and will be held rain or shine.

The Kidz Bop Kids’ Life of the Party Tour

Join the Kidz Bop Kids at the recently opened Ford Amphitheater on Coney Island this Sunday for their Life of the Party tour! The popular children’s music group that covers hit pop songs will sing favorites from “Kidz Bop 32” such as “My House,” “Love Yourself,” “Hide Away,” and “Never Forget You.” Ages 6 and up will love seeing Ashlynn, Grant, Matt, and Sela live in concert. Tickets start at $25.

<p><a name="m_-1473885667065203258__Hlk72147528"></a>Adventuring Portal runs Dungeons and Dragons (D&D) games for kids.   We have created a safe online space for tweens and teens to learn and play D&D.</p> <p>Our D&D Summer Camp session are a one-week experience.  Monday – Friday.  Each day will be 3 hours of gaming (with 2 breaks build in).  15 total gaming hours for $180.  If you have played with us before, you are entitled to 10% off.   </p> <p>Need your kids, nieces or nephews, grand kids or neighbor’s kids to be occupied for a bit so you can get work done & take care of your to-do list? Maybe your tween or teen is still a bit isolated and craves connection with their peers?
