Elle Belle Reports Live From Pirates and Princess Adventure

DL8 Jake and SofiaPut on your tiaras and swing your swords as you join Disney Junior Live On Tour! Pirate & Princess Adventure. You and your parents will love this new live show based on our Disney Junior’s favorite series, “Sofia the First” and “Jake and the Never Land Pirates.” It featured great songs to make you sing out loud, an interactive screen to make you feel like you’re along for the journey, cool special effects and other fun surprises from volcano eruptions to bubbles! Everyone will feel like a princess and pirate at this fantastic family adventure!

Mickey and Minnie personally welcomed us and started the show with a song about princesses and pirates making dreams come true. The stage was full of storybook princesses and pirates in front of an interactive big screen that made us feel like we were right along for the song and dance. I felt like I was daydreaming but it was real!

Sofia the First took us on a princess journey to learn the true meaning of being a princess. She went to royal prep school to prepare to host the Friendship Festival where the teachers were none other than Sleeping Beauty’s fairy godmothers. Through song and dance, we learned first about posture, then manners, and last dancing. I was clapping along, tapping my knees, and dancing in my seat. After passing royal prep with royal colors, Sofia tried to select the best gift for her festival guests. She learned that bigger isn’t always better after receiving some special advice from Cinderella herself. (Everyone oooh-ed and aaah-ed when Cinderella took the stage including me. I was so excited I should, “Hi, Cinderella!”) Cinderella helped us learn that it is important to be a princess outside and inside and to give gifts from the heart. Sure enough, Sofia wowed everyone with her gift — especially me–my heart was fluttering! I must be a princess outside and inside, too.

Jake and the Never Land Pirates took the stage to loud rumbles of song and pirate dance that had everyone cheering along. Jake and friends had to make the hidden treasure volcano appear while competing against Captain Hook. It was hard to dislike Captain Hook when he and his fellow pirates did an awesome stomp number until he captured Jake! Luckily, Izzy and Cubby were there to get help from Tinkerbell and Peter Pan himself. Peter Pan literally swung onto the stage and saved the day, rescuing Jake. Everyone went wild. Then a pirate ship race started between Jake and Captain Hook to see who could reach the volcano first. It felt like we were in the boat thanks to the awesome magical screen and interactive sing-a-longs. Both Jake and Captain Hook arrived to unlock the hidden treasure and when in a tough spot, Jake chooses the right thing to do and shows us the true meaning of being a hero.

From start to finish, I was in awe of the songs, costumes, characters, and captivating set. It was a great adventure for this little lady. I cheered the whole time but when the pirate and princess came out for a stunning grand finale, I even applauded over my head for emphasis.

This little pirate princess highly recommends you hurry over to see the show. Details can be found here: disneyjuniorlive.com
