Dance Workshop just opened a new location on the Upper East Side.
Dance Workshop, established on Long Island in 1978, has opened a new location on Manhattan’s Upper East Side.
In searching for a new location, Dance Workshop’s co-owner Nanci Grasso wanted a space that would be “a home away from home for the students.” She deemed the brownstone on 64th Street and Lexington Avenue the perfect place. It houses two dance studios and a waiting room for parents.
Dance Workshop offers lessons for boys and girls, children to adults. Tap, jazz, ballet, hip-hop, modern, lyrical, contemporary, and acro classes are offered and capped at eight to 10 students.
Dance Workshop also offers birthday parties for children and wedding dance classes for adults. Birthday parties can include dance games, prizes, and a hip-hop warm up and choreography. “No prior dance experience is necessary to have a good time,” Grasso says.
The wedding classes are customizable for the couple or wedding party to learn a classic dance or an original choreographed piece.
Dance Workshop’s mission is “to preserve the art of dance, teaching our dancers the value of marrying technique and passion.”
While the dance season begins in September, Dance Workshop offers rolling registration throughout the year. They will also be offering a summer session, with details forthcoming in February—contact the studio for more information.
