Curvebreakers Test Prep Expands Services

Curvebreakers Test Prep is now offering subject matter tutoring for students in the sixth through ninth grades at the Mineola and Great Neck locations.

Curvebreakers Test Prep on Long Island expanded its programming in May to include offerings for younger students. The business is known for its individualized test prep for high school students, but has found that tutoring younger students is quite rewarding in terms of working with them on improving their performance in class, says owner Nicholas LaPoma, Esq.

“We’re not a learning center and we are not a one-person operation. We fall somewhere in between. We can teach students how to be better thinkers and better learners rather than teach facts; it’s more about improving a child’s educational ability,” he says.

Curvebreakers Test Prep also offers an intensive, individualized standardized test prep program for the SAT, ACT, PSAT, and more, first analyzing student performance through diagnostic testing and a free consultation.

“No part of our program is cookie-cutter, just like no two students are the same; no two programs are the same. Different people need different things, which is the whole point of the consultation process that we go through,” LaPoma says. “We sit down with students and we look at their education history, what they are struggling with, what they’re doing well on, and we craft a program to address those things.”

Curvebreakers Test Prep also works with students with learning differences who may need testing accommodations. Because their system is so individualized, tutors are trained to focus on the individual student’s learning style and needs and are able to adapt to help them.

Curvebreakers Test Prep has two locations on Long Island in Nassau County: 80 E. Old Country Road in Mineola and 3 Grace Ave. in Great Neck. For more information about Curvebreakers Test Prep, call 516-728-1561, email info@curvebreakerstestprep.com, or visit curvebreakerstestprep.com.
