Charity Of Choice: generationON’s Be A Joy Maker Campaign

This month, we will be highlighting some very worthy charities of choice as great organizations to consider if you’re preparing to make a holiday donation as a family. For advice on how to get children in the giving spirit, we spoke with Concetta Bencivenga, Execute Director of generationOn. Here’s what she has to say about the season of giving:

“We just launched our Be A Joy Maker campaign. What we’re asking kids to do from now until December 18 is to perform an act of service. For every act of service that they perform, Hasbro will donate a toy to Toys for Tots. It’s an amazing opportunity to get kids thinking about the fact that there are a lot of people right here in the tri-state area who are not going to have gifts during the holidays. I think humans have a need to contribute, a need to help. And kids need to help too. They need to know that what they’re doing can help someone and can make a difference. It’s a great thing to instill in young people.”
