Reconnect, Create, and Celebrate: Wave Hill Marks 60 Years of Nature, Art, and Family Fun

Wave Hill, located at 675 West 252nd Street in the Bronx, is a public garden and cultural center that has long inspired generations of New Yorkers to slow down and reconnect with nature. This clean, safe, and welcoming space invites families to roll down its expansive lawn, explore serene woodland trails, or simply walk barefoot in the grass. It’s the perfect place to create cross-generational memories rooted in a shared appreciation for the natural world.

Every weekend, the Family Art Project brings families together to create nature-inspired art in a relaxed studio overlooking the gardens. This beloved program often welcomes three generations crafting side-by-side, fostering connection through creativity and nature. Learn more at the Family Art Project.

From June 5 to 8, Wave Hill celebrates its 60th Anniversary with a four-day festival filled with family fun and discovery. Highlights include a special edition of the Family Art Project, Stories in the Garden, and the popular Sunset Concerts—perfect for picnicking families. Don’t miss The Great Pollinator Ramble, an immersive puppet-led event by the artists behind the Village Halloween Parade, or enjoy free hand-rolled ice cream from OnlyRareNYC.

Sunset Concerts continue throughout the summer, along with seasonal nature programs like A Salute to Trees, which celebrate the beauty and wonder of the natural world. Visit wavehill.org to view the full calendar of events.
