Asphalt Green, a not-for-profit organization that focuses on health and fitness for all ages, is hosting a swimming race like no other!
The Big Swim, taking place on Saturday, May 3, is a friendly competition where little athletes can participate in a free swim meet. Diving off the blocks into a cool, 8-lane pool, kids ages 6-12 will love the excitement of Olympic-like swimming! Any and all children are invited to join in on the water fun.
In addition to the thrilling experience, all participants will be treated as winners, receiving a finisher medal, commemorative t-shirts, and a souvenir swim cap. The Big Swim Meet also provides an opportunity for youngsters to meet and greet professional swimmers and divers, including Olympians and elite athletes!
As part of their FIT KIDS FIT CITY campaign, a project that helps 30,000 New York City kids explore a healthy lifestyle through sports and fitness, Asphalt Green is also hosting the Big Swim Benefit. Proceeds from the special occasion, which includes a luncheon, an Olympic Exhibition, and crafts and games for the kids, go to funds for the Waterproofing program, a branch of FIT KIDS FIT CITY that provides free swim instruction and water safety training to public school children.
