10 Presidents’ Week Events for Kids in Westchester

Celebrate Presidents’ Week in Westchester with ten kid-friendly, local, mid-winter recess activities, from ice skating, a trip to the Wolf Conservation Center, and a Presidents’ Day exhibit in Mount Vernon. 

 

In Celebration of Washington’s Birthday

WHEN: Feb. 7-May 17, Wednesday-Sunday 12-5pm
WHAT: The famed Gilbert Stuart painting of George Washington, as well as prints, stamps, coins, and currency, show him in images beautiful and respectful, made to frame our vision what a president should be.

Winter Wolves on Presidents’ Day!

WHAT: Visit ambassadors Atka, Alawa, Nikai, and Zephyr, as well as the center’s other wolves, and enjoy hot beverages in the woodstove-heated classroom.

Presidents’ Day and Exhibit Opening

WHERE: St. Paul’s Church N.H.S., 897 S. Columbus Ave., Mount Vernon 
WHEN: Feb. 16, 11am-3pm
WHAT: Visit the historic church for the exhibit: Intrigue on the Village Green: The Great Election of 1733 at St. Paul’s. At 1pm, there will be a talk about President Lincoln. At 3pm, author and historian Lisa Keller examines one of the themes of the Election of 1733, held on the Village Green at St. Paul’s.
