Camp director Kate Bedard joins the day camp in Oyster Bay, which now has more to offer campers ages 2-15.
Camp director Kate Bedard joins Camp East Woods, which now offers seven-week flexible enrollment, extended day, private swim instruction, new activities for the early childhood program and elective-based programming for first grade and older.
The day camp is held at the historic East Woods School, in Oyster Bay. It offers a wide array of activities for children ages 2-15, including creative and performing arts, team and individual sports, music, cooking, builders club, stand-up comedy, creative writing, and more. “We also offer elective-based programming for our campers entering first grade and up, so that they may have some autonomy over their daily schedule and pursue activities that most interest them,” Bedard says.
Bedard, East Woods’ Director of Athletics and Summer Camp, has worked in residential and day camps for the last 15 years in programming capacities. “Summer camp is really a second home, an extended family, where children can pursue their interests and discover new ones in a safe, nurturing environment,” Bedard says.
Camp East Woods takes place this summer from June 27-Aug. 11. There are single or multi-week options available as well as half-day and three-day options as well.
Online registration is now open for the 2017 Camp East Woods season.
