Grandmaster Bruce Chung’s studio now provides a two-hour drop-off enhancement program for children ages 2 1/2 to 4 1/2.
The new Gym-Mini Kick-It Kickstart® preschool enhancement program is now being offered at Bruce Chung Tae Kwon Do.
The two-hour drop-off program, designed for young children ages 2 1/2 to 4 1/2, incorporates activities that build gross and fine motor dexterity and help develop social and academic skills.
Each day children have moments of free play, allowing them to socialize with other children and use their imagination to create puppet shows, build with blocks, draw on chalkboards, shop in the grocery store, and many other exciting activities. Free play is followed by time dedicated to obstacle courses, creative movement, and basic Tae Kwon Do techniques.
Cofounder and Tae Kwon Do Master Susan Chung says that days are planned out to keep children participating from start to finish. “We put a lot of thought into this program. From the minute the children arrive until they leave, we keep them engaged,” Chung says.
Children also participate in basic academics like learning the days of the week through song, arts and crafts projects that develop and enhance attention span and fine motor skills, number and alphabet games and worksheets, and interactive story time.
Finally, children are taught basic skills required for sports such as soccer, tennis, kickball, and baseball.
“Our goal is to ensure that every child achieves their personal best,” Chung says.
