This September, Book Nook is offering satellite classes to parents at locations in Tribeca and Brooklyn.
Book Nook is an enrichment program that aims to provide a smooth transition from the play of preschool to the academics of grade school. Founder Rina S. Patel has a Masters in Teaching Literacy to children, a Bachelors in Elementary Education and English, and a certification in Early Childhood Education. Patel is passionate about building solid foundations in literacy for every student.
Classes are offered for children ages 18 months-7 and are broken down by developmental age ranges: Lil’ Hoots, Kiddie Hoots, Pre Hoots, Kinder Hoots, and Wise Owls. Each class is designed with the whole child in mind and made to meet every child’s needs and learning style.
Students learn handwriting, literacy, and reading development skills in small groups to give them a head-start for kindergarten preparation. The skills taught at Book Nook are helpful for preschool and kindergarten interviews and admission tests. Book Nook prides itself in it’s ambiance, made to engage and amaze students, while simultaneously making students feel comfortable and ready to explore.
