Benswic, a Manhattan-based athletic and personal training business, will soon be expanding its offerings.
Benswic will be launching youth soccer and youth baseball sports leagues for children ages 6-18 this summer. It currently offers a youth track and field sports league. Through its sports leagues Benswic trains athletes who want to develop their skills and compete.
Benswic also offers an after-school program; launched in September and held five days a week at P.S. 290, it includes team sports such as basketball and baseball. Benswic’s athletic and personal training can include one-on-one and semi-private sessions focused on fitness or specific sports.
Formerly known as Fuse Academy, the business changed its name in September to Benswic. The new name is a combination of initials from the founder’s family, and ties into the mission of the business to train and inspire children and adults.
Experienced coaches lead Benswic’s programs and have knowledge of how to coach kids. In addition to being the founder and CEO, William B. Marshall also serves as an athletic trainer and the head track coach.
Benswic’s programs take place in community buildings and within various parks in Manhattan. The business intends to open a brick and mortar location in the Harlem area within the next year and aspires to expand into other boroughs, such as Queens and Brooklyn, in the future.
