Ban Winter Boredom

What better way for little ones to spend a holiday break
from school than at a one-week camp? Ban winter boredom and sign them up for one of the many short-term camp programs across the city.
Many, if not most, of
the children’s enrichment and activity centers that serve the city all
year long, have set up winter camps for kids. So if you’re looking to do
something familiar, or different!, call up your favorite venue from our classes
directory
and inquire about holiday camps.
Here’s a sampling to help get you started.

Super Soccer Stars has great camps to keep kids of all ages
moving this holiday break. Choose from the Mini Camp (ages 2.5-5) or the Kick
It Camp (ages 6-12), both happening next week. Mini campers will enjoy 2.5
hours of soccer activities and winter themed arts & crafts for $300/week,
while Kick It campers will receive a whopping 4 hours of soccer skills
instruction for $395/week. Score! Check out supersoccerstars.com
for more details.

Sports Center
Health Club at Chelsea Piers will be hosting two sessions of Urban Adventure
Holiday Camps for teens (ages 12-16) this month. Campers will have access
to the health club’s world-class facilities including the rocking climbing gym,
1/4 mile indoor track, basketball courts and an indoor sand volleyball court.
Additionally, teens will work on team building activities, color war games and
sports such as soccer, baseball, bowling and ice skating. $135/day (min. of 3
days) or $590 for the full week. Go to chelseapiers.com
to learn more about this amazing camp for teens.

Create a new mini-musical in just four days at TADA! Youth
Theater’s “Let It Snow!” This camp is for grades 1-6, and runs Tuesday-Friday, 9am-4pm.
At the end of the week, parents are invited to watch the musical, which will be
recorded for all to see via a free v-link. Have your kids sing their way
through the holiday break! Find out more info about TADA’s camps at tadatheater.com.

Scribble Press has the perfect camp for your little book
worm, ages 3.5-6! Each day starts by reading a different winter holiday book and
is followed by exciting projects based on the story. December 28th, for
example, features one of our favorite books “Katy and the Big Snow.” After
reading the story, kids create tractors and special snow paint to craft their
very own winter scenes. Camp is $50/day. Find out more at scribblepress.com

For the ultimate culinary camp, Taste Buds is offering single-session
holiday camps as well as a Warm & Cozy 4-day experience for 4-13 year olds.
With winter themes like Snow Day, Pajama Day and New Year’s Celebration!, tiny
tasters will make comfort foods like mac ‘n cheese. $320/week. For more
information check out tastebudscook.com.
