Ballet Academy East, a dance studio located on the Upper East Side, opened the enrollment for its March Mini Camp to children as young as 3. The ballet studio, which offers a variety of ballet classes and programs for ages 18 months to adult, will host the March Mini Camp March 19-29.
In the mini camp, girls ages 3-8 will have opportunities to explore ballet, musical theater, arts and crafts, cooking, drama, tap, gymnastics, and origami. Children can be enrolled in one or both weeks of camp.
The school also offers Summerdance, a summer program for girls ages 3-9. The camp runs for eight weeks and offers a well-rounded experience in the arts. Campers will take part in dance, art, drama, cooking, and swimming, among other activities.
“It’s really a well-rounded arts program, it’s not just a dance program. We do arts and crafts and origami, and teach costume making, so it gives campers an opportunity to explore other aspects of the arts, besides just ballet,” says Katie Eletto, studio manager. “It’s very unique in that they do a lot of different things, but it’s all focused around performing arts.”
Summerdance will be held in two sessions: June 25-July 19 and July 23-Aug. 16. Campers can customize their own schedule and may enroll in non-consecutive weeks. If families register for Summerdance by April 4, they will receive $300 off for either summer session or $600 off for the full eight weeks.
Ballet Academy East offers an early drop-off option beginning at 8:15am. It also will provide lunch for an additional cost. It is a peanut-free facility.
Registration for March Mini Camp and Summerdance are open.
