Baby Products Moms Can Use

Winter winds and dry air can wreak havoc on your skin this season. But instead of going out and buying expensive new skincare products, take a peek inside your diaper bag first! Some of the items you use on your baby will work just as well on you—saving you time and money in the process. Here are six products that protect both mom and baby from the harsh weather:

The thing I love about Babo Oatmilk Calendula Moisturizing Baby Lotion ($16.50), aside from its mildness, is its scent. It has a slightly herbal, almost musky aroma with a tiny hint of patchouli that I just adore. I also bought their Moisturizing Baby Shampoo & Wash ($16). And guess what–they both ended up in my bathroom!

You know Mrs. Meyer’s for their excellent cleaning products, but their baby line is just as noteworthy. I picked up their Lip and Cheek Balm ($5.99) because the packaging was so cute, and somehow it migrated from my diaper bag to my purse. It is great to rub onto baby’s cheeks and momma’s lips for extra protection against dry weather.

Another great product is Mayron’s Chapstuff for Cheeks and Lips ($15). This giant stick is super handy and great for slicking over lips, cheeks, cuticles and any dry spots. I used this all last winter on my son’s cheeks to protect against the wind and slathered it all over my lips and hands.

I knew I would like Shea Moisture Organic Raw Shea Butter Baby Oil Rub (available in Target stores only; $9.99) because argon oil, frankincense and myrrh are on their ingredient list. I love argon for its excellent moisturizing properties and frankincense and myrrh for their ancient and yummy scents. The product adds another layer of moisture to my skin when I apply it after a shower. When my baby is in a relaxed mood, I can also give him a rubdown post-bath for a special treat!

Boudreaux’s Baby Kisses ($2.36) for lips and cheeks is made by the same company that makes the cult favorite Butt Paste. It is easy to toss in your purse or bag and adds moisture and protection to tender skin–and works great on both mom and baby.
