Last fall, Heather Capelle and her husband, Peter, bought the studio that was previously known as Applause Westchester and re-opened it as Artistree Performing Arts with the mission to, “create a community of performers who can build their confidence and friendships in a really supportive and nurturing environment.”
After managing the studio as Applause for 8 years, they have recently added new classes to their Artistree curriculum. The first is an advanced acting class for students in grades 9-12. The other is an acting and playwriting class for students in grades 4-8. In this class, students who might be more interested in acting and writing, rather than singing and dancing can write their own scenes and perform them at a year-end showcase.
Artistree also offers a new music video birthday party option, where the birthday boy or girl can pick a pop song and dress up and dance with their friends. Choreography will be taught and the kids will be filmed in order to create a music video of their own.
Artistree Performing Arts offers classes for kids 6 months-18 years. It also offers several adult classes.
