All Kids Can Learn, an academic enrichment center in Forest Hills, recently launched a new writing program which offers support in a variety of different writing genres including: personal narrative, expository writing, argumentative writing, and literary responses.
Students in this program will receive tailored instruction that is aligned to the Common Core State Standards in order to develop their readiness and proficiency for the New York State ELA exam. It offers individualized small-group instruction that is differentiated according to each student’s needs. On the 2016 New State ELA exam, 92% of the students in this program scored a Level 4.
“The specialty of the program is giving each student personal attention and the correction of each piece of writing that is not able to be done in a big classroom setting in a public school,” said program director Wendy Zhang.
In addition to the writing program, test preparation and homework help are offered. A new SAT Prep weekend program also just recently launched.
Students also get the opportunity to prepare for college by developing their college essays.
