Spring has sprung! And this weekend we were out and about. We had the
pleasure of eating at the Hampton Chutney Co. Have you ever had a dosa?
It’s a type of South Indian pancake, made from fermented lentils and
rice blended with water; typically served with chutney or sambar. At
Hampton Chutney Co. the concept is more like Indian fusion food so
flavors are not as intense or too spicy for your kids. Besides
traditional potato masala, innovative fillings such as arugula,
spinach, cheddar & goat cheese, sun-dried tomatoes, or portabella
mushrooms are piled into a thin crispy crepe the size of your arm! The
chutney is delicious and there are so many varieties. We prefer the
mango and cilantro. —
The newest store is located on the Upper
West Side in Manhattan, and it caters to neighborhood families. With a
kiddie corner full of books and toys for tots to play with while they
eat. Plus a menu selection of children’s favorites. This place is a
real gem! The ingredients are so fresh. The dosa’s are truly
scrumptious. They are light, yet filling. And each chutney you get is
so tasty and flavorful. Try it this weekend with your kids!
P.S. Also naturally gluten-free!
