When the kids are begging for dessert, here is a way to appease them with minimum effort and maximum Y-U-M. (You can to eat it, too!) Since chocolate pairs with almost everything, you are likely to have at least a few ingredients lying around that will make excellent dippers. —
CHOCOLATE FONDUE
Makes 1 cup
6 ounces semisweet or bittersweet chocolate morsels (about 1 cup)
3/4 cup heavy cream
DIPPER POSSIBILITIES
banana slices
clementine segments
strawberries
grapes
dried apricots
cubes of bread
pretzels…you name it!
INSTRUCTIONS
Place the chips in a glass bowl. Heat the cream in a small saucepan until steam begins to rise from the surface and the edges begin to bubble. Pour the hot cream over the chips and then place a small plate on top of the bowl. Set aside for 5 minutes. Stir until smooth and voila! Fondue!
