Woofstock 2025: Adopt Your New Best Friend in Brooklyn!
If you’re looking for a weekend activity that’s fun for kids and might be life-changing for your family, Woofstock: Badass Spring Fest 2025 should be on your calendar. The fun takes place Saturday, May 3rd, in Brooklyn, with a free, family-friendly street festival that brings together rescue dogs, local food, music, and more.
Hosted by Badass Animal Rescue, the event is a pet adoption fair where families can connect with a good cause, let kids explore, and maybe even meet their new best friend.

Adopting a Dog Changes Their Life — and Ours
Dogs teach kids about empathy, responsibility, and, in the case of rescue dogs, what it means to be there for someone who needs a second chance. Organizations like Badass Animal Rescue, which has saved over 3,700 dogs from high-kill shelters, make that possible, and events like Woofstock help keep this lifesaving mission going.
Even if you’re not ready to adopt, bringing your children to an event like Woofstock can help support a wonderful cause and be a lot of fun for the kids, too.
Family Fun at Woofstock
Expect a lively mix of adoption opportunities, hands-on activities, delicious food, and local vendors offering everything from handmade goods to pet essentials. Here’s what’s in store:

- Kid-friendly stations: Young visitors can try out a dog agility course, stop by the doggy kissing booth, or just enjoy being around the dogs in a safe, fun setting.
- Raffles for kids and adults: Prizes range from restaurant gift cards and local experiences to pet goodies and fun surprises for the whole family.
- Plenty of great food: Grab a bite from Brooklyn favorites like Ollie’s Ice Cream, Palo Santo Tacos, and Hanks Chicago Dogs.
- Local vendors and makers: Browse a mix of handmade items, dog treats, natural skincare, accessories, and more. It’s also perfect for picking up something unique while supporting local businesses.
- Friends of Badass booth: Stop by to learn how you can get involved beyond the event through fostering, volunteering, or supporting rescue efforts throughout the year.
And don’t miss the Dogwalkers booth around 3:15 pm. There’s a little surprise planned that’s just for the grown-ups.
Why It’s Worth the Trip
Families can drop by Woofstock for a quick visit or make a day of it and enjoy all the fun and festivities. While adoption is a big part of the event, you don’t have to be looking for a pet to have a great time. You can grab a snack, meet and play with some amazing dogs, and hear the stories that brought them from rescue to recovery.
Woofstock is a great place to start if your family is considering adoption. It’s a low-pressure, welcoming environment where you can meet potential pets, ask questions, and connect with experienced rescue staff who can help guide the process.
Even if you’re just coming for the experience, Woofstock offers kids a meaningful opportunity to see how kindness, responsibility, and compassion can make a difference for dogs and humans. In the best-case scenario, you just might welcome a new family member!
Woofstock will be held on Saturday, May 3rd on President Street (between 3rd Ave & Nevins) from 12–5 pm.
