STARTS FRIDAY

Winnie the Pooh’s creator is turning 131. Celebrate his birthday with cherished Pooh stories and arts & crafts at the Brooklyn Children’s Museum — it’s party time! (Friday)

Holy dino! Erth’s Dinosaur Zoo brings the mightiest creatures of the past to life with incredibly realistic puppets at the New Victory Theater. Can you believe it? (Friday-Monday)

Get a thrill at the International Motorcycle Show at the Javits Convention Center, whose kids offerings include obstacle courses, a stunt show, and more. Vrrrroom. (Friday-Sunday)

 

STARTS SATURDAY

This weekend’s MoMA films series lets kids delight in iconic films from their parents’ childhood, like “The Gingerbread Man” and “The Princess and the Pea.” Classic! (Saturday)

BAMfamily, the arts series for all ages, kicks of its 2013 programming with a costume party of skits, face painting, poetry, and crafts. Talk about fun! (Saturday)

The women in “Show Way,” playing at Vital Theatre, track their family history from the  slavery era to modern-day New York with a super cool piece of art. What’s their secret? (Saturday & Sunday)

Polaris Productions Theater Camp

<p>Kids will learn, rehearse, and perform the wonderful Maurice Sendak and Carole King musical, Really Rosie. For 10 weekdays, campers will take part in physical and vocal warm-ups and learn choreography, staging, and vocal parts. They’ll develop skills in acting, singing, character development, and more. This camp will ignite your child’s imagination and passion for performing, build their self-esteem, and help them form lasting friendships. They’ll have fun! At camp’s end, the kids will perform Really Rosie for family members and friends. Kids of all levels of experience, ages 8 through 13, are welcome to join.</p>
