Excuse me, but how is it already half-way through September? I can’t handle it. The Jewish holidays are here, the nights are getting chilly, the kids are back at school, we’re all going apple picking, and Halloween is just around the corner — I’d ask time to slow down but frankly I just got really excited for everything to come! Let’s not waste another minute though — we simply don’t have time to spare. Here’s this week’s Tweet Beat!
RT @melissaschapman: Reflections on my definition of family as we begin a Jewish New Year bit.ly/PfZkRh — Colleen Padilla (@classymommy) September 17, 2012
My post is late this week because I was celebrating Rosh Hashana, the Jewish New Year, so I loved reading Melissa’s perspective on it: “This new year I will teach my kids, that family is not where you come from- but who you’ve become and who you choose to bring into your life.”Beautiful.
Here’s to you, New York City, and to a peaceful day of remembrance for everyone. bit.ly/REnnwO — NY Botanical Garden (@NYBG) September 11, 2012
Last week marked the eleventh anniversary of September 11, 2001. I’d like to echo the Botanical Garden’s in saying I hope it was a peaceful day of remembrance for you and your family.

It’s Wednesday again (!), which means this Monday post is two days late — but on the bright side it means that we’re two days away from a weekend filled with reading all over again! What are you reading these days (both with the kids and by yourself)?
