Top Tweets of the Week (January 7, 2013)

Welcome to the very first Tweet Beat of 2013! I was on vacation for the last Mondays of 2012 and the first Monday of 2013, so I am saying hi to you for the first time in a few weeks, and gosh darn it feels good to be back on schedule! The holidays are lovely but they breed a certain kind of chaos, and I’m a creature of habit and routine, so I’m secretly very glad to be back to business as usual. Since we haven’t seen each other in what feels like forever, this is an extra long Tweet Beat — the focus is, predictably, the end of 2012, the beginning of 2013, resolutions, goals, and perspective. Happy New Year, everyone! I can tell this year is going to be great.

Remember New Year’s Eve? Did you stay up to midnight to watch the fireworks? If you missed it, don’t fret — let’s kick off this tweet beat by walking down memory lane…backwards.

There’s nothing I like more than optimism and enthusiasm for a new year! Count me in on this sentiment…2013 is going to be great!

Technology is weird. It’s like you can’t live without it until you do and then you wonder why you live with it…sort of. In any case, I completely relate and this is how I felt when I got back from vacation.

Haha, and sometimes it’s not a matter of forgetting technology, it’s a matter of never knowing it at all! Lucky for us, we’ve got the kids of the world to help us figure it out.

I know we’re saying goodbye to 2012, but I can never say no to a list of delicious recipes.

Well you know what they say: everyone handles a new year in their own way!

Nope, this is totally normal and I support it 100%. Well actually I’m Jewish so I don’t have any Christmas decorations, but I adore trees and lights and all that jazz so I’m giving you permission to leave the decorations up forever!

What an adorable craft idea to kick off 2013 with your kids! Everyone needs a calendar, right?

I’m sorry but if you know anything about me, you know I am OBSESSED with floral print anything. I couldn’t skip out on a list of ways to incorporate my beloved print into a winter wardrobe…just because there’s snow on the ground (metaphorically) doesn’t mean there can’t be flowers on my body, right?!

Love these ladies and can’t wait to see what they have in store for the new year — congrats on the shoot!

It’s good to know that no matter what the new year brings, kids will continue to be wonderful creatures that help us tweet the best quotes.

Seriously! It’s like we all need a holiday from the holidays!

Week 2 of the new year means it’s tempting to start giving up on resolutions — very impressed with everyone sticking to their new goals and plans!

This is good advice — I wonder if I can find anyone to text me at 10pm and say GO TO BED.

One of the best feelings is making longterm plans. Congrats on this exciting decision!

AMEN.

Speaking of parents (especially dads!) if you’re looking for a rad father to follow on Instagram, here’s a great recommendation! We love seeing more dads included in the social media parenting conversation — both perspectives are so important.

Ah, whether it’s 2012, 2013, or 2020, it’s always good to have so perspective. Happy Monday indeed! See you next week, same time, same place! Join us on Mondays for more Top Tweets.
