Hello and happy Monday! Yes, today is Monday, unlike last week when I made you wait until Wednesday to devour our Top Tweets of the Week. But you probably don’t even remember that, so let’s just gloss right over it. Onto more important things: can you believe that crazy NYC storm that happened last Wednesday?! I know, it’s super boring to talk about the weather, but you should know me well enough by now to know that “insane crazy hail rain storm” is not exactly just “weather” to me. It was terrifying! This round-up reflects some of my favorite storm reactions, but don’t worry, I’ve also included a hilarious YouTube video, some inspirational tweets, and an ice-cream recipe round-up. Yum!
When was that Aztec apocalypse day again? — Liz Gumbinner (@Mom101) July 18, 2012
Let’s start with the storm. OMG. Aztec apocalypse is right! I’m constantly convincing myself that crazy weather is a clear sign of the End Of The World, so I don’t find this suggestion crazy at all.

As I was saying: apocalypse. Yes/yes?
It’s STILL storming! Kids are freaked out. And ok, so am I. #NYC — Jessica Shyba (@MommasGoneCity) July 18, 2012
Totally normal to be freaked! I was so freaked! Everyone else in the office made fun of me but it was so scary!
That Instagram pic of storm everyone is tweeting: 10 bucks says it’s fake. — Kathleen Schmidt (@Bookgirl96) July 18, 2012
But does that make the storm any less terrifying?! I think not! (Was it fake though? Now I’m curious…I’m so gullible.)

That last tweet was so garbled because I’ve been up since 5:25. NOT by choice. Will wait to write more until after coffee. Lots of coffee. — sarahdessen (@sarahdessen) July 23, 2012
It makes me feel much better that a famous author get just as tired as I do when we both, you know, don’t sleep.
