Top Tweets of the Week (May 14, 2012)

Welcome to another installment of Tweet Beat! Is it a crazy week for everyone, or am I the only one feeling a little loopy thanks to the rain? In any case, thanks to my frazzled brain, Tweet Beat is a smorgasbord this week! Think of it as a delicious buffet of words: some sweet, some salty, all delicious. Yum, now I’m hungry. Bon appetite, tweeties. Dig in.

I hope all the mamas out there had a great Mother’s Day! I also hope no one got you any of these cards…but maybe there’s a special mommy in your life you wish you could’ve sent one of these too? No worries, there’s always next year.

National Teacher Appreciation Day happened. Did you thank a teacher? It’s not too late if you forgot…go do it right now!

Maurice Sendak, a personal hero of mine, passed away last week. This is a really nice collection of images honoring him.

I don’t always even know how to live by myself in the digital age, let alone parent in it. This topic/talk is really monumental, and the transcript format is super easy to follow. Check it out, and ask yourself the question @AutismWonderlandposed: what do you think is the biggest challenge for our kids in the digital world? Then ponder this one (posed right now, by yours truly): what do you think is the biggest challenge for ourselves in the digital world? Hm.

Frequently/always.

Did you get your wish?

Who participated in #NoMothersDay? We’d love to hear about your experience.

If this is true, I want to take @HonestToddler everywhere with me. This account is literally the Best Find Of The Week. Those of you who haven’t heard about the truthful little guy until right now…you’re welcome. But you can’t take him everywhere with you, because he’s coming with me (with his mommy’s permission, of course!) Okay mamas and papas, that’s all for this week. The weather is horrible and it makes me sluggish, but these tweets do a lot for my mood. I love reliving the past week with you–thanks for letting me in to your worlds, 140 characters at a time. Until next time… Join us on Mondays for more Top Tweets.
