The halls will be alive with music as the Star Playhouse’s production of “The Sound of Music” waltzes through the Suffolk Y JCC on June 2 and 3.
“The Sound of Music” is set in Salzburg, Austria at the beginning of World War II, and tells the tale of a beautiful young governess named Maria who is charged with taking care of the children of the stern, but handsome Capt. von Trapp. Maria tames the unruly bunch of children, falls madly in love with the dashing officer, and marries him. Musical numbers include the favorites “My Favorite Things,” “Edelweiss,” “Climb Ev’ry Mountain,” and “Do-Re-Me.”
