The NYMetroParents blogroll features the best blogs in the parenting world, from New York and beyond. Here’s a closer look at why we love these mom bloggers and dad bloggers and how they’re shaping the web for parenting today.
Blogging from: Brooklyn
In The Coffee Beaners blog, Mexican-American mom Rebeca travels around Brooklyn (and some Manhattan) coffee shops and rates every brew she tries. Her 5-year-old son, Diego-Max, gives his own reviews on the shops’ pastries. Together, this mom-and-son team give the inside scoop on some of the best local coffee spots in the Big Apple.
With over 100 posts, Rebeca’s blog is a wealth of information on Brooklyn beans. She takes care to include lots of pictures, from the façade and inner décor of a shop to its coffees and baked goods. There are lots of adorable pictures of Diego with his sweet treats, which give this coffee blog a friendly, family feel.
At the end of each review, Rebeca includes ratings of the atmosphere, coffee, food and price on a number system, and includes a brief summation of the service (“delightful,” “lovely,” “nothing extraordinary”). If you’re looking to get a taste of local coffee, consult The Coffee Beaners blog first. — Kimberly Mollo
