Super Sleds

Don’t let this snowy season pass you by without a day of sledding!  A timeless winter past-time, there are many great areas for fun sledding right in New York City.  Gearing up requires the right equipment—warm waterproof clothing–and, of course, the sled.  We found a few that will keep you smiling all the way down the hill.

Canadian-Ashwood-Toboggan-2New York-based online retailer Kaufmann Mercantile, known for ruggedly hand-crafted and well-designed goods, offers a sleek Canadian Ash Wood Toboggan ($249), constructed with air-dried wood slats for flexibility and screws (not staples) for durability.  They’ve also designed a waxed canvas and wool felt pad to use with the toboggan for extra comfort.
