On June 25, Soundview Sports Camp will add Mini Day Camp, a movement-based fitness program for toddlers to summer options. The Mini Day Camp at Soundview Sports Camp is open for registration now.
On June 25, Soundview Sports Camp is adding a unique movement-based program for toddlers to its repertoire. Mini Day Camp will keep little ones active and eager to work together, says Steve Moynahan, owner and director of Soundview Sports Camp.
Boys and girls ages 3½-5 years old are invited to join the camp that will incorporate swimming, soccer, and introduce yoga. The children will begin their day with a quote that encourages teamwork and builds the enthusiasm and interest of learning and working together. The camp will focus on developing sportsmanship and ideas of teamwork while enhancing the gross and fine motor skills of the toddlers. “Fitness activities build the child physically and mentally. Kids all develop differently, but if we can steer them early on, it can encourage lifelong fitness,” Moynahan says.
The mini campers will also play games that involve building as a team so they can better understand body movements while being creative and having fun. Children will be encouraged to take pride in what they have accomplished as individuals as well as taking pride in their team.
