Southampton Racquet Club and Camp, a division of the Timber Lake family of camps, is undergoing a complete renovation this winter, which will be complete by the time camp starts this summer. Along with tennis instruction, campers will have opportunities for other camp activities including swimming and arts and crafts.
Southampton Racquet Club and Camp, a division of the Timber Lake family of camps, is undergoing a complete remodel, reopening in time for the start of the June camp season. Catering to children ages 3-12, the club aims to introduce the world of tennis to all its campers.
“Campers who want to get tennis instruction, whether they’re top players or they want an introductory program, can find an outstanding instructional opportunity at our camp,” says Timber Lake executive director Jay Jacobs.
Operating on seven Har Tru tennis courts, children can choose one to three hours of either private or group instruction, depending on their level of interest. Campers also have the option of participating in activities such as racquetball, arts and crafts, swimming in the camp’s newly designed pool, and basketball. Jacobs goes on to add that at Southampton, children will enjoy making lifelong friends while building their self-esteem and resilience. “We [play] in a safe, fun environment that also introduces tennis as a lifetime sport to children while offering outstanding instruction,” Jacobs says.
