Shining Smiles Pediatric Dentistry P.C., a full-service pediatric dentist for children of all ages, opened in Manhasset in October 2017. The Shining Smiles Pediatric Dentistry dental team aims to create a fun and friendly environment, also offers treatment for children with special needs.
To create a calm dental visit, parents are encouraged to be in the exam rooms with their children. “We are caring and gentle. My goal is for children to not be afraid of the dentist,” says Rod Stern, D.D.S., owner of the practice. “My staff and I are great with kids because we really love what we do.”
“We strive to make every visit exciting and fun for kids!” Dr. Stern adds. All treatment rooms at Shining Smiles Pediatric Dentistry are themed; TVs are in treatment rooms; and iPads, games, and TVs are in the lobby for children to use while they wait for their exams. Plus, every child leaves with a new toothbrush and goodie bag.
The dental team offers services such as routine cleanings, sealants, X-rays, fillings, and extractions, among others, as well as treatments for emergency visits and injuries. It also offers dental care for children with special needs, as Dr. Stern received specialized training during his residencies.
The practice uses gluten-free paste in all cleanings, and the whole office is latex-free to prevent allergic reactions. It accepts most insurance plans, offers flexible financing, and has Saturday appointments available. New patient forms can be found online, and parents are encouraged to fill one out prior to their child’s first appointment.
