We’re smack dab in the middle of winter, and with the kiddos stuck in the
house, parents need new ideas for indoor family fun. Did you realize the kitchen could be a laboratory of fun? —
Here’s an idea that’s great for fams: Kitchen Pool! Yep, you can shoot pool right on your kitchen table. Of
course, you’ll need a “cue,” the “ball” and “pockets,” right?
For the “cue”, use a plastic drinking straw with a strand of
uncooked spaghetti inside. The spaghetti strand will be a little longer than
the straw which works perfectly. For motion, push the spaghetti back and forth through
the straw as it’s resting on the table. Hold it at a slight angle so you can
easily guide the “ball” around the table. For the “ball”, use your imagination. Try using a Cheerio or
sunflower seed, something light and small enough to be pushed across the table.
You could use a ping pong ball for this, too. For the “pockets,” tape paper cups to the edges and corners of the
kitchen table.
Take turns playing pool right there on your kitchen table.
You can make teams and play kids versus parents or boys versus girls. Have a tournament that will keep you busy and entertained all afternoon!
