Picasso Kidz, an art studio in Greenlawn, now offers a summer art program for ages 4-12, and summer mini camps for ages 2-4.
Picasso Kidz aims to enhance a child’s creativity with programs including painting, drawing, bookmaking, and sculpting. The studio’s new Summer Art Camps will run from July 6 to Aug. 21 and Summer Mini Sessions will run from July 6 to Aug. 8. Camps are suitable for children ages 2-12 and Mini Sessions are for ages 2-4. Each week children will be exploring art within specific themes.
“[Our mission] is to allow kids to have a well-rounded art education,” says owner Michelle Daddino. “They’re really going to get engrossed into art.”
Depending on what Summer Art Camp the child enrolls in, they could be exploring famous artists, discover art from around the world, explore sculpture in many forms, and the littlest artists can have mommy time while at camp. During the 2½-hour sessions, all materials will be supplied to children.
Summer Mini Sessions offer similar programs for younger artists, but in shorter camp days, running for an hour each day. Programs offered include mommy-and-me, petite Picasso’s, intermediate Picasso’s, and Master Picasso’s.
Children can enroll in multiple programs throughout the summer as long as camps are age-appropriate. Those participating in multiple programs receive discounted prices, and class times vary depending on the program.
The studio itself is very colorful and creative allowing the children to become immersed in whatever camp they choose, says Daddino. She believes that with her background as a New York-certified art teacher, she can share her knowledge with the children.
Registration for summer programs is still open.
