The NYMetroParents blogroll features the best blogs in the parenting world, from New York and beyond. Here’s a closer look at why we love these mom bloggers and dad bloggers and how they’re shaping the web for parenting today.

Jennifer Covello is a “mompreneur.” After a long career in the corporate marketing world, Jennifer opened her own business—Frittabello, an online baby gift shop. She has authored a children’s book and created a baby journal and journaling workshops for parents. She is also the mom of son Christopher and daughter Kaitlyn. This busy mommy bee chronicles all this and more in her blog, Parenting for Purpose.
Some often-used categories on Jennifer’s blog include “Mindful Parenting,” “Guilt-Free Parenting,” “Spiritual Parenting,” and, of course, “Parenting with Purpose.” Before each blog entry, there is a “purposeful parenting tip,” which sums up the takeaway from each post. Jennifer has blogged about topics such as the costs of raising children, the impact of divorce on the family unit, and helping moms recover from “SuperMom Syndrome,” her name for the chronic stress and fatigue that nags at overworked mothers.
Jennifer’s writing is neat, clear, and thought-provoking. It is clear that she cares a great deal about her fellow mothers (and dads, too!) and wants to share her own experiences in the hopes that others might relate to them and find inspiration. As one of her purposeful parenting tips says; “You are doing the best you can…every day!” — Kimberly Mollo
