Over the Moon Music and More will introduce a Music Together class for older children (ages 5-7) this fall at its Scarsdale and Chappaqua locations.
When Jackie Freimor first enrolled her daughter in Music Together, a research-based early childhood music program where parent participation is the hallmark, she fell in love. In 2005, Freimor founded Over the Moon Music and More, and she now offers Music Together classes at seven different locations in southern and mid-Westchester. This fall, she’ll introduce a new music program for older children at two of those locations.
Freimor and her certified staff teach basic music competence-like keeping the beat and singing in tune-through song, chants, and dance to children from birth to age 5 in a mixed-age setting. “We are based on solid research about how children learn musically — we know it works because we’ve seen it over and over again,” says Freimor, a certified Music Together educator who has been performing as a singer/guitarist since she was a child.
Big Kids Music Together, a new 10-week program that teaches basic music literacy to children ages 5 through 7, will begin September 24 at the Scarsdale and Chappaqua locations. Parent attendance is welcome but not required after the first class.
