On The Blogroll: Foodie City Mom

The NYMetroParents blogroll features the best blogs in the parenting world, from New York and beyond. Here’s a closer look at why we love these mom bloggers and dad bloggers and how they’re shaping the web for parenting today.

Blogging From: Queens, New York

Mommy blogger and head of Foodie City Mom, Kimberley Coleman, is not just another foodie on the food chain. In fact, each day, Coleman gets closer and closer to the top of the food chain with her precision, logic, and insight. Coleman, the original “Mom in the City,” keeps you updated on mouth-watering recipes such as Pico de Gallo guacamole, her journey through parenting her two young children Sean and Michael, and her experiences as on being married in New York City. She reminds us that we are only human, designed to err, but destined to survive.

These reminders are evident among her wordless Wednesdays, her tasty recipes, and her stories about her two goofy children. With her anecdotes, Coleman provides useful life tips that can help you make good decisions and avoid mistakes. Additionally, you can learn about many of the awesome programs Coleman supports such as Lets Play! which keeps kids active. Coleman reflects on her good experiences such as those she had at Asian Fusion and her bad experiences such as the time she learned the severity of her child’s asthma.

While this mommy blogger shares her personal stories and opinions, she will never pressure you into following her hale and hearty lifestyle. She makes it clear that she is no “food police.” After reading her blog, however, I’m sure you will find that this lioness and her two cubs run a pack you’ll want to follow. — Holly Tucker
