Upcoming freshman may audition for a $1,000-$2,000 music and performing arts tuition incentive award for Monsignor McClancy Memorial High School in January 2018 with a song or instrumental performance.
Applicants must be accepted to Monsignor McClancy, do well on their entrance exam, list the school as their number one choice on their application, and be in good academic standing. The award is available to incoming freshman only.
The award ranges from $1,000-$2,000, which would then be deducted from the annual cost of tuition. The benefactor wishes to remain anonymous, but did name the scholarship.
“The donor wanted the scholarship to be named after me, The Brother Joseph Rocco, sc, Ed.D. Music and Performing Arts Tuition Incentive Award, and I am quite humbled,” said Brother Joseph Rocco, sc, Ed.D., president of the school.
If the student is granted the arts scholarship, it’s renewable each year assuming that the student maintains good academic standing and that they would participate in their respective band or singing program.
Monsignor McClancy Memorial High School is located in East Elmhurst, Queens. It is a coed Catholic high school founded by the Brothers of the Sacred Heart in 1956.
Prospective students who wish to find out more about the school should inquire about the Crusader for a Day Program. Students will accompany McClancy freshman throughout the day by attending classes and extracurriculars. Prospective students will also have a chance to meet faculty and teachers. The program is only available to students who are in the 8th grade.
