Mathnasium of Bayside has updated its SAT math curriculum to reflect changes made to the exam.
Mathnasium of Bayside, a math-only learning center in Queens, has updated its SAT math curriculum for students to reflect the changes made to the exam in March of 2016.
In order to best prepare students for the math portion of the SAT, Mathnasium will give each one a skills assessment. Each student’s prior SAT math scores will also be reviewed to help identify and improve areas of weakness. After students have a good foundation of the skills needed for the test, they will be given SAT sample tests to apply said skills.
Since the SAT has questions classified as being easy, medium, and hard, students who struggle with math will focus on getting as many easy and medium questions correct as they can. Students with stronger skills will work to master the hard-level questions.
In addition to SAT tutoring, Mathnasium of Bayside offers homework help and tutoring for students in first through 12th grades. Mathnasium strives for a ratio of one highly trained instructor for every three students.
“Where other tutoring centers only offer SAT prep, we are flexible in our approach,” says owner John Lee. “If a student is studying for the SAT but has an upcoming math test in school, we can also help them focus on that.”
