From penne puttanesca to
pancakes and flounder to French fries, Academy Award-winner Gwyneth Paltrow
arms the parents of any child—from the sophisticated palate to the pickiest eater—with
tried and true recipes, from her kitchen to yours, in her new cookbook, My Father’s Daughter. —
The book, which was featured in New York Family’s June issue, is divided
into informational sections (like the best way to stock your pantry), as well as more traditional recipe
sections like main courses, side dishes and desserts. The book is not only a testament to creating
good (and nutritious!) food but also to the importance of family bonding.
In her introduction,
Paltrow discusses the close relationship she had with her father, Bruce
Paltrow, especially in the kitchen, and the way cooking plays a part in her
relationship with her own children. What we learned? By going
to the farmer’s market or supermarket together, making a kitchen garden, or
simply talking about how things grow could get your children interested and
involved in your daily food routine.
With Father’s Day just
around the corner, we think Paltrow’s fondness toward her own dad will leave all
fathers (and mothers) who work hard to raise healthy and happy kids feeling
fresh! We have five copies of My Father’s Daughter to share! Visit our
Facebook Page and tell us why you want to win.
Deadline to enter is Friday, June 24.
