Friendship Ambassadors Foundation in downtown Greenwich, CT will be hosting young International Youth Fellows in 2013 and seeks two Westchester and Fairfield families to host the two accomplished young professionals who will be working at the foundation for at least six months.
Friendship Ambassadors Foundation, located at the Greenwich Arts Council Building in downtown Greenwich, CT, will once again be hosting accomplished young International Youth Fellows in 2013. The accomplished young professionals who are close to completing their university studies will be working at the foundation for six months or more. The Foundation is seeking homestays within the local community for one or both of the Fellows at this time. Generous families with an interest in the international and expanding their horizons are invited to apply as hosts.
The two Fellows will work on a variety of Foundation initiatives, including the popular Youth Assembly at the United Nations, the Rhythms of One World Choir Festival at Lincoln Center, and several concert tours and volunteer trips throughout the world. Their work with the staff will be in the areas of logistical planning and development.
This year, FAF has selected two young women, from Nepal and Denmark, for Youth Fellowships. Both are seeking homestay opportunities in the Westchester and lower Fairfield County, CT areas during their six-month stays. It is NOT essential that a host family commit to the entire six month stay – but considering that both are very intelligent, engaging young professionals older than 21, most families will want to consider hosting them for their entire stay.
The foundation is seeking safe and friendly families interested in cultural exchange right here at home. Both women are seeking a private room – and Friendship Ambassadors Foundation also requests some time with the families when they are not working, including breakfasts, perhaps drives to the local train or bus stations, and friendly sharing time with the families as possible throughout their visit.
Both fellows are polite, intelligent, speak perfect English, are well-traveled and will be working daily at the foundation throughout the coming months. The Nepalese Fellow will complete her studies at University of Bridgeport during her stay; the Danish Fellow will be completing post-graduate studies in Denmark with this internship.
There are no stipends for Fellow homestays at this time however the rewards will certainly be great for the homestay families, who are urged to contact FAF at their earliest convenience. FAF staff will interview the families to ensure the fellows’ safety and to make sure the match is a good fit for both parties.
